Hollyoaks fans have been entertained by the Deveraux family for many years.
The diverse and bold characters of this dynamic group of characters have provided plenty of drama, tension and betrayal throughout hundreds of episodes.
Fans will be left on the edhe of their seats in upcoming scenes following the discovery of Lisa Loveday’s body.
To make matters worse, Celeste Faroe is set to protect her killer brother Toby and frame innocent Mitchell Deveraux for the murder of his cousin.
While some characters remain living in Hollyoaks villages, others have left Chester to explore new opportunities.
From Hollywood success, famous relatives and explosive race rows, Daily Star has taken a look inside the real lives of the Deveraux family stars.
Lisa Loveday – Rachel Adedeji
Hollyoaks was embroiled in a racism scandal in June 2020 after actress Rachel Adedeji, who played Lisa Loveday in the serial drama, hit out at Channel 4's Black Lives Matter social media post and podcast.
The soap went silent for 24 hours on its platforms in response to the death of George Floyd in the US.
Rachel, 30, claimed the programme's stance was “performative and disingenuous” and said “systematic changes must be put into practice".
She made a series of shocking allegations about incidents backstage, including the lack of diversity in the directing team and shocking slurs from a senior member of production, that were backed up by other members of the cast.
The soap launched an investigation to deal with any racism, releasing a statement saying: “Hollyoaks has been deeply shocked and saddened by issues that have been brought to our attention over the weekend.
“Lime Pictures strives to have zero tolerance of racism or any form of discrimination across all of its shows but it is clear we have further work to do.”
Rachel later decided to quit the soap after four years playing Lisa Loveday.
A spokesman for the star insisted at the time that “It had always been our intention for Rachel to leave the show after a period of time.
“She loved her time on Hollyoaks and the exit storyline was openly discussed with the producers and her together, in a collaborative format”
Martine Deveraux – Kellé Bryan
Hollyoaks fans will know actress Kelle Bryan as Price Slice manager Martine Deveraux.
The star's character is currently planning to marry her partner Felix Westwood after being diagnosed with cancer.
However, behind the scenes actress Kellé has been dealing with her own private health struggles.
The talented star, who shot to fame as part of girl group Eternal, recently opened up about her battle with Lupus – a chronic autoimmune condition where the body makes antibodies against itself and starts to attack it.
After being diagnosed in 1999, the 46-year-old actress revealed how she had to learn to walk and speak again after cerebral lupus left her with swelling on the brain, causing a seizure.
Discussing her life with lupus during an appearance on Loose Women back in May, she explained: “It has been a really difficult journey. It’s not just me going through it. There are so many people out there struggling with lupus.
“For me it’s about raising awareness of the disease and helping others to understand it more. There’s not very much tolerance or understanding for the disease.”
Mitchel Deveraux – Imran Adams
Imran Adams played Martine's son Mitchell from February 2019 until November 2020.
The talented actor recently filmed scenes for Hollywood horror sequel Jeepers Creepers: Reborn landing a major part in the well-known thriller franchise.
During an interview on set, Imran revealed: “Well I play Chase who’s a bit of a funny man and a nerd.
"He loves comic books but most importantly he loves horror films, so he has a few surprises up his sleeve when he takes his beloved girlfriend off to a horror festival.
He admitted that being cast in the movie is nostalgic for him as he was a huge fan of the original movie as a child.
Imran added: “Jeepers creepers 1 was my first ever horror film I couldn’t sleep for a week and I think this is a bit more scarier for me actually!” The movie set for release in 2022.
Felix Westwood – Richard Blackwood
Richard Blackwood currently plays Felix Westwood and fans may also remember him from 90s dating game show Singled Out.
The talent actor, who has also appeared in rival soap EastEnders, isn't the only famous star in his extended family.
He was once step siblings with supermodel Naomi Campbell.
They lived together for a brief period in the 1980s after Richard's dad Cliff married Naomi's mum Valerie.
Cliff and Valerie separated after seven years but speaking to The Guardian a few years ago, Richard said the pair remained friendly in the years that followed.
He said: "We were closer when we were younger – then my dad and her mum split up. She's got her life to lead, and I have my own.
"Remember, we were only together for a short space of time. Uur parents were together for only seven years.
"But we speak from time to time. Naomi's good people. She was a good sister for a long time. She saw me at the clubs. We still talk."
Jacqueline Boatswain shocked Hollyoaks fans when she announced she was leaving her role as Simone Loveday after four years.
Having appeared in the hit soap since 2015 as Price Slice boss Simone, the character made a sad exit from the show in 2019.
Simone and Zack Loveday (Duayne Boachie) left the village together after a series of drama on the series saw them character flee to live in Jamaica.
Jacqueline said at the time "It's sad that it's time to go, but it was our decision.
"It's been a big part of our lives, because we've been there for four years.
"It's gone so quickly and it's my longest time ever playing the same character.
"But it was still a wrench, because we absolutely loved working with each other.
The star also revealed she is leaving the soap to take on new acting opportunities.
She added: “There's a lot going on, a lot of opportunities were being presented to us and we wanted to go and take those opportunities."
Jacqueline, 56, says she is still in regular contact with all of her former on-screen family – including Rachel Adedeji.
She said: "We are a family in the true sense, so I'm still in touch with all of the Lovedays.”
Trevor A. Toussaint
Water Deveraux actor Trevor A. Toussaint is close with his on-screen daughter Kellé Bryan away from Hollyoaks.
The soap star is a member of Kelle’s booming talent agency, Advocate Agency, which represents talent with multicultural and diverse backgrounds to bolster their careers.
Trevor has appeared in a string of movies in recent years including drama Nine Nights, comedy Death in Paradise and Drama Sulphur & White.
Walter has been embroiled in a string of dramatic storylines over the years including partnering with fellow gangster Fergus Collins (Robert Beck) to make Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) pay for manipulating Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) into spying on them.
