Josie Gibson has been making more of a mark on This Morning lately but is rumoured to be enjoying a shower of other job offers.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby’s This Morning future has been in question ever since the Phillip Schofield scandal rocked the programme and he stepped away from his presenting role.

Holly is currently taking an extended break from the ITV magazine show, and Josie has once again stepped up to host the show on certain weekdays.

PR expert Mark Borkowski indicated Josie could soon be set to launch a solo career in TV after he explained: “Television is very, very fast-moving, you don’t sit around and wait because then you’ll become the ‘This Morning person.’

“Supporting Holly was a huge break for Josie, her agents will be thinking, ‘How do we get something out of Holly’s shadow, that’s Josie’s own gig?’

“Josie has to jump on any opportunity and take it because in three or four weeks it might not be there – someone else might have grabbed it.”

It comes as some sources claim Holly is set to get an increase in her monthly salary, which Mark has suggested could enrage viewers as the nation battles with a cost of living crisis.

Talking to OK! Magazine, Mark continued: “What’s Holly expected to do?

“Like footballers, TV personalities often have a very, very short shelf life.”

He added: “To make this work, she’s got to deliver on screen and be very careful in terms of what she does publicly, what interviews she does, and what she delivers on her own personal social media. It’s about the long-term strategy now.”

Speculation about Holly’s future on the show has been spiralling, but ITV has reportedly decided to keep Holly as the main presenter and not replace Phillip.

The 42-year-old is apparently “so excited” as a source claimed: “It will essentially be Holly’s show.

“Bosses hope that they can put all of the Schofield scandal behind them and start concentrating on the content of the show rather than the twosome presenting it.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
