Kerri Quinn has kept viewers hooked with her performance as Louise Byrne in the BBC miniseries, Three Families. The actress is perhaps best known for her role as Vicky Jefferies in the ITV soap, Coronation Street. Express.co.uk has explored whether she has left the soap for good.
Has Kerri Quinn left Coronation Street?
Coronation Street’s Kerri Quinn plays Theresa’s (Sinead Keenan) best friend in the new series, Three Families on BBC One.
The eye-opening series explores abortion laws in Northern Ireland and how it has impacted families from all walks of life.
The 37-year-old actress is known for portraying Vicky Jefferies in Corrie, and Rita in the sitcom Derry Girls.
Quinn, from Belfast, joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2018, but her character disappeared a year later.
She was due to return to the soap in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic meant her storyline had to be scrapped.
She had not been seen since her character gave birth in secret, with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) present.
The two wanted revenge against their lover Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) and had planned to lead police to believe he was responsible for Vicky’s recent disappearance.
Vicky was then supposed to disappear for good with her newborn baby.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, she said her character’s story never came to an end.
She said: “She was going back to Belfast and we had a leaving do, it was all great.
“It was a proper farewell and emotional to say goodbye to some people who I’d met there because I had made some really lovely friends, but before we’d even hit new year it was like, ‘Do you wanna come back?’
“I was like, ‘Yeah!’ and as far as I know there was a story there and the idea was to go back at some point during the summer, which obviously didn’t happen.”
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, it would not have been safe for her to travel, especially as she has a young child.
She said the creators had “put a pin in” her storyline and she may return at a later point this year.
Quinn has recently spoken out about representing the pro-life community in the new TV drama, Three Families.
The mum-of-one said she was “honoured” to take on the role when she spoke to the Belfast Telegraph.
The topic is important to her with her parents having lost her brother Kevin, who had a hole in his heart, when he was just three.
She said it was a topic she did not really discuss often as she appreciated people held different views.
Fans are looking forward to seeing the star return as Vicky in Coronation Street at some point in the future.
During the time she spent as part of the soap, viewers expressed their excitement over her character’s storylines.
At this moment in time, there is no knowing how or when she will make a comeback.
Hopefully, with restrictions on production finally starting to lift, she will return to the Cobbles once more.
