Harry Redknapp eyes up EastEnders 'gangster' role after I'm A Celebrity

The 71-year-old football manager and former professional football player has admitted he would be interested in pursuing an acting career when he leaves I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Jamie Redknapp's father has admitted he would love to play a bad guy in EastEnders, or take on a gangster role in a movie.

Nick Knowles asked Harry about his future outside of the jungle. He said: "Do you fancy a bit of acting when you get back?"

Harry – who is favourite to win the ITV show – replied: "EastEnders! I'm ready for EastEnders."

The DIY SOS star continued to quiz Harry on the specific role he would want to take on.

Nick questioned: "Do you fancy playing a gangster in a gangster movie?"

Harry was taken by the idea.  He joked: "I could be a slasher! Slasher Redknapp."

The star went on to perfect his best mob star impression, much to his fellow campmates enjoyment.

Harry joked: "Jimmy, he’s taken a right liberty with me.  Sort him out.  You know where he is.  Trim him up, give him a couple of slices.

John Barrowman admitted he could envisage Harry taking the lead role as a the head of a gang in a film.

The actor and singer said: "Harry would make a great mob boss."
To which Emily Atack agreed.  She added: "Oh God yes."

Harry has provided a huge amount of entertainment for viewers and fellow campmates during this season's show.

Earlier in the week Harry showed off his musical ability when the contestants were treated to a feast and karaoke at The Jungle Arms.

During the episode the sportsman belted out Frank Sinatra's My Way, and was awarded with cheers and laughter from his competitors.
