Gogglebox’s Baggs family quit Channel 4 show after three series

The Baggs family, including dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George, have quit Gogglebox.

The popular family-of-four from Essex have been on our screens for three series, having joined the popular Channel 4 show in 2020.

They cited their reason for leaving as ‘being so busy with other work commitments’, but teased that they are working on exciting new projects, which suggests they could be back on TV in another format.

In a joint statement on eldest son, 25 year old Joe’s Instagram page, the family said: “After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show. We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.

“With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity.

“Thank you for all your support whilst we have been on the show and over on TikTok. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!”

Fellow Gogglebox star, Ellie Warner, who’s boyfriend was recently injured in a serious car accident, wished the Baggs family well, as she wrote: “All the best to you guys”, with a number of red love heart emojis.

A fan wrote: “My angels, won’t be the same without you! On to bigger and better”.

Another person commented: “I’ve absolutely loved watching you all. Your mums laugh is just like mine. Will miss seeing you on Gogglebox. All the very best for your futures xxxxx”

Joe has built up a large following on TikTok, with one million followers and 53.9million ‘likes’.

Many of the comments on the Baggs’ Instagram statement referred to it, with one person writing: “Nooo!!! Gonna miss you guys. I’ll keep following on tik tok.”

Another Instagram user commented: “Nooooooo!!!! One of my faves from the show . But to be honest you’re more entertaining over on tiktok. I hope you guys leaving means there’s a possibility of your own show coming.”

Fans were gutted when Gogglebox aired its final episode of the series on Friday night.

Manchester favourites, Tom and Julie Malone took to Instagram a few days ago to discuss the end of the current series.

Tom said: “It’s the last one tonight for a few months but, you know, have a break, have a holiday, go mental, you know what I mean?

“Go out on a Friday night, just live your dreams, you know what I mean?”, to which Julie added: “Enjoy your summer”.

One fan commented: “Aww will miss you both .. have a lovely summer x”, whilst another wrote: “Will miss you x”
