GMB’s Susanna Reid left cringing as she relives ‘X-rated’ Dan Stevens interview

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was forced to relive an awkward moment on the show this morning thanks to her co-host Adil Ray.

When a segment on Downton Abbey came on air, the 45-year-old stand-in presenter took the opportunity to ask Susanna a cringeworthy question.

He mentioned her 2014 interview with actor Dan Stevens, who played Matthew Crawley on the hit ITV drama.

Despite the embarrassment, Susanna admitted she was sent a lovely bunch of flowers by the Brit actor.

In the interview, the 48-year-old GMB star asked Matthew whether he had to "beat off American men" to bag a role in The Guest.

She asked: "You play this apparent all-American hero and this is a big opportunity for you in Hollywood. You must have had to beat off a lot of American men to get this part?"

Awkwardness ensued when Matthew misunderstood the question and started laughing over the innuendo – leaving Susanna cringing.

Susanna probed: "Why does that make you giggle? Did you not have to beat them off?"

Later that year, before his next appearance on GMB, he jokingly tweeted: "Beating off that Monday morning feeling with Susanna Reid on GMB shortly…"

When Adil brought up the hilarious exchange on this morning's show, Susanna went red-faced all over again.

She asked: "You don't think there's anything awkward about mentioning that on air in front of millions of people?"

Adil laughed it off, prompting Susanna to add: "I'm to sorry for anyone who was offended by that."

"He sent me flowers afterward to say sorry for making me embarrassed."
