I'M A Celebrity's late entry Gillian McKeith has revealed the real reason for her second stint on the show.

The You Are What You Eat nutritionist, 63, made her explosive entrance into the South Africa camp as she emerged from a box carried by four men.

After Gillian's identity was revealed the star – donning her blonde hair in dreadlocks – was already causing issues with infamous rival Shaun Ryder.

She has been renowned for her lively I'm A Celebrity stints in the ITV jungle, with the nutritionist originally starring in series 10

Now the Channel 4 personality has revealed her true "calling" for her show return.

Talking about her second stint on I'm A Celeb she said: "I feel apprehensive and petrified.

"It’s going to be more terrifying this time because back then, I didn’t know what to expect but this time I can’t use that as an excuse.

"What I felt before feels 1000 times worse now and all of it freaks me out but I feel I’ve got a calling to represent all the scaredy cats in Britain – and that is the reason why I’ve said yes."

Addressing her achievements, she continued: "Doing the programme didn’t change me.

"I learned that knowledge is fear. But one thing I would say is when I look back on the experience, it did surprise me that I could sleep

"As a child, I’d never liked the idea of camping but sleeping in the hammock in the jungle was peaceful – so long as there were no insects crawling over you!”

Yet, of course, there will always be critters somewhere.

Admitting her most spine-tingling moments she added: "Being buried in a coffin with a lid shut with tonnes of water pouring in and rats running around.

"Argh! I can’t even think about it!"

I'm A Celebrity…South Africa continues tomorrow night at 9pm and all this week on ITV1 and ITVX.
