Fate The Winx Saga: Is Beatrix a blood witch?

Fate: The Winx Saga teaser released by Netflix

Fate: The Winx Saga arrived on Netflix in January 2021 and it has worked its way up to number one in the streaming platform’s top 10. The series was inspired by the Winx Club animated series from the early 2000s, but the live-action adaptation has added some dark twists. Some fans believe antagonist Beatrix (played by Sadie Soverall) is actually a blood witch.

Is Beatrix a blood witch?

Fate: The Winx Saga has taken the world by storm since it landed on Netflix and fans have fallen in love with the feisty fairies.

The series follows protagonist Bloom (Abigail Cowen) as she discovers her true identity as a Changeling.

As a Changeling she was swapped with a human baby at birth and she possesses some ancient powers.

In the series, she helped free Beatrix, who had manipulated her into finding the villainous Rosalind (Lesley Sharp).

Beatrix knew a lot about Rosalind and her past, particularly when it came to the village Aster Dell.

Beatrix took Bloom to Aster Dell and explained how they had both originally came from there.

She told Bloom of how Rosalind saved their lives and how she needed to speak to Rosalind to find out the truth about her past.

Rosalind had mentioned how Aster Dell had been destroyed to eliminate blood witches – another evil force.

Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the prospect of Beatrix being a blood witch.

SalemAcat said: “They said she and Bloom where both found there, obviously because Bloom was kidnapped by the witches which isn’t shocking and similar to the OG issues with the witches, but like if Aster Dell had been taken over by blood witches and that’s all that’s there why was Beatrix there?

“Were her fairy parents kept alive? Was she kidnapped as well? Furthermore why did Sky’s dad raise her? Isn’t he supposed to be a king?”

Others have mixed opinions about the theory, with bbypaarthurnax saying: “I doubt it as blood witches were humans who wanted to steal the fairies’ magic, Beatrix wouldn’t have powers if she was really their kid.

“I think she was kidnapped just like Bloom and the whole ‘my parents died in Aster Dell just like yours’ story was to get Bloom to trust her and do what she wanted her to do.

“Either that or Rosalind never let her know that the people living there were blood witches, which to me, makes more sense. She manipulated Beatrix so she could get her out of that cage.”

Fans are hoping season two will explain Beatrix’s deeper connection with Rosalind, who seems to be manipulating her just as much as she is Bloom.

Some believe Beatrix will discover her identity as a blood witch in a potential second season.

Kenzeecritz said: “All we know for now is that Beatrix was found in Aster Del where the witches were. Going with was Rosalind had said and trusting her, Beatrix was born there from witches while Bloom was kidnapped for her amazing power, the Dragon Flame.

“Now does Beatrix know Bloom wasn’t actually born in Aster Dell? Don’t know. And does Beatrix know that she’s actually a witch and that Aster Dell was full of blood witches? I’m unsure about that.

“In my opinion, I don’t think she knows that, which is why she was so against Farrah and pro Rosalind.”

Beatrix is definitely more powerful than most of the new fairies at the college and there is something unique about her.

Fans of the original series believe she could team up with the Specialists Dane (Theo Graham) and Riven (Freddie Thorp) to form the group known as The Trix.

They have suggested blood witches are a nod to the ancestral witches and the Trix – a trio of witches who are the main antagonists in The Winx Club.

They are all direct descendants of the ancestral witches and are the most powerful witches in existence.

There is definitely a chance Beatrix is linked to the witches in this way as her power is unique compared to that of the other fairies.

Fans will have to wait and see if season two is given the green light so they can find out more about Beatrix’s past.
