Emmerdale viewers stunned as character is recast after surprise return

Emmerdale viewers were left pretty divided over a surprise recast, as baby Seb made his return to the ITV soap.

Robert Sugden went to pick up his baby son, who he shares with former character Rebecca White, as he prepared for a surrogacy meeting with husband Aaron Dingle.

The duo were meeting with surrogate Natalie in their bid to start a family, with them wanting Seb to be there for the meeting.

Robert was stressing he wouldn’t be able to collect Seb and get back in time, with the little one living with Rebecca and her partner Ross Barton in Liverpool.

But Robert had nothing to worry about, with him and his son back with plenty of time to spare before their meeting.

Aaron and his sister Liv greeted little Seb as he came back home, with Robert holding him during the latest episode.

But viewers of the show were slightly confused, after spotting something very different about the tot.

They soon realised little Seb was played by a new actor entirely, and was a different baby.

Seb had been played by a baby girl named Lily since the character’s birth on the show.

Now it’s not known who plays the little one, with the role not listed in the credits by the ITV show.

Taking to Twitter , viewers shared their reactions with one fan saying: “Oh no they have changed Seb!”

Another commented: “That’s not Seb,” as a third tweeted: “Seb recast alert!”

Meanwhile, a fourth tweeted: “Robert's taken the wrong baby, that imposter is not Seb.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
