Emmerdale spoiler for today June 19, 2023: arrest after Caleb murder attempt | The Sun

THE authorities are actively seeking answers after Caleb Milligan was pushed off a ravine and left for dead.

Tonight in Emmerdale, the police believe they've found who may have tried to kill Caleb.

Caleb Milligan (portrayed by Will Ash) was last seen in The Woolpack, dropping home truths on every single resident crossing his path.

In doing so, he not only made an enemy out of his own brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), but also deeply hurt his former love interest Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) by using her addiction to cocaine to humiliate her.

Unaware a mystery figure was following his every move, Caleb found a brief moment of solace at the edge of a ravine until he was pushed.

While he survived the fall, the schemer remains in a comatose state with Cain and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) watching over him.

Tonight on ITV, the police are looking for someone to blame and multiple suspects are on their mind.

Cain and Leyla are at the top of the list but are closely followed by Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

But tonight, Chas is suspicious of Cain when two detectives, DS Raveley and DC Croft, arrive to question him.

Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), on the other hand, worries about Mack's involvement.

Will's strange behaviour fuels Gabby Thomas and Kim's suspicions – could he have pushed Caleb?

Just as they're leaving for the airport for their trip away, DS Raveley arrives to question a panicked Will.

Although Will is relieved when Kim and Gabby corroborate his alibi, once the detective's gone, Kim demands the truth behind Will’s shifty behaviour.

Leyla’s alibi is also rather fragile whilst Mack tries to play dumb when he is in turn questioned.

Unfortunately for him, Mackenzie's alibi doesn't add up, and with Chloe failing to corroborate his story, the police arrest him.

Mackenzie had two reasons for lashing out at Caleb, as viewers of the Yorkshire-based soap will recall.

Due to his scheming, Mack's sister Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) lost her farm.

Caleb also slept with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Mack's soon-to-be ex wife.

But could Mack have tried to kill Caleb?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
