Emmerdale reveals wedding shock for Bernice and Liam

You can always rely on Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) to go all out when she wants something and, true to form, she plans a Wild West murder mystery themed charity day – with her main aim of winning back the heart of Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).

As the whole village gets involved in the venture, Liam is chuffed to be cast as the Sheriff for the performances but Bernice’s only interest is snaring her man. With everyone in costume and the village looking like it’s straight out of a Clint Eastwood film, Bernice plans to propose to Liam.

But, as you might expect, not everything goes to plan.

Sam told Metro.co.uk: ‘Liam’s furious that she thought he was could kill her so there’s no trust; so there’s no relationship. So to get back together she comes up with a huge extravganza for charity. She know he fancies himself as a bit of a cowboy. Before the Wild West event they are split and she’s doing what she can to try to get back together with him. She gets so carried away with the idea of Wild West that she’s in a fantasy she’s not considered what might happen if it doesn’t work. She thinks it’s got to work.

‘It’s for the children’s cancer ward at the hospital. She gets Debbie Dingle in the hospital because Sarah was there. She tries to get as many people on board as possible but she keeps forgetting that it’s she’s raising money for charity as really the main point of this is to get back with Dr Cavanagh. Obviously it doesn’t go to plan – these things never do for Bernice!’

Whether or not she can win his heart back with such a grand gesture remains to be seen but Sam is hopeful that the couple can resolve their differences and have an Emmerdale wedding down the line.

She smiled: ‘I think she would want to do a big extravagant wedding thing. Dressing up as whatever. It would be fun. She doesn’t get a happy ending does she? We’ll see. I don’t know if Liam will be her happy ending. I think there’s potential there. They’re both well suited, they both have quirks.’
