EastEnders star Emma Barton saves dog from a busy road

EastEnders star Emma Barton jokingly asked her followers if it’s ‘too early for wine’ after she heroically rescued a dog from a busy road.

The actress — who portrays Honey Mitchell in the BBC One soap — opened up on social media about the incident, which seemingly took place this morning (November 25).

In a tweet, Emma said: ‘So is it too early for wine????? Thank you to all the drivers who stopped for me whilst I was running like a crazy woman in the middle of a busy road to rescue an escaped doggy.’

‘That was a lucky one… the neighbours little dog is fine.. I’m shaking like a leaf though…’

What a hero!

Emma, who competed on Strictly Come Dancing last year, has been at the centre of a huge story in EastEnders since the soap returned to screens on September 7.

Honey was involved in a harrowing ordeal when she was drugged by her date Paul, and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) has been by her side every step of the way since.

Honey and Jay’s bond has led viewers to believe that the characters might embark on an affair.

On the possibility of such a thing, Emma told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s really interesting, Jay has been her support after all of this and she has supported him too and helped him to grow up that bit more. There are definite complicated feelings there and what I would say is that you can’t help who you fall for.

”If anything did happen, it would be very complicated and cause quite a bit of drama because she, Jay and Billy have such a history together and poor Billy, he still loves Honey very much. It might cause a lot of conflict.’
