EastEnders spoilers: Whitney Dean horrified as disaster strikes in doomed wedding twist

Whitney (played by Shona McGarthy) is blissfully unaware Callum (Tony Clay) had a brief dalliance with EastEnders bad boy Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) earlier this year as the youngster tries to understand his sexuality.

There has been some anguish between the husband and wife-to-be of late, as Callum has struggled to write his vows as well as the former solider becoming distant following the death of his first love.

Although they’ve had their disputes, Whitney and Callum are just weeks away from tying the knot and are continuing to plough away with their plans.

As the big day approaches, Whitney gathers the women of Walford for her hen party in upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, but disaster and chaos soon ensues.

With Whitney’s Hen party in full swing, the likes of Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks), Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) get in the celebratory mood.

As the wild antics get underway, it’s not long before the ladies are up to mischief, with things soon taking a very serious turn.

In the midst of the tomfoolery, Rainie finds herself choking on a straw, leaving Whitney and the other women horrified.

Being the only trained nurse on the scene, Sonia steps into help as Rainie struggles to breath by giving the patient the Heimlich manoeuvre.

Rainie’s choking ordeal soon comes to and end, with the women watching on in stitches as Sonia makes sure she’s ok.

Although a crisis is averted, Whitney is still to learn Callum had a one night stand with Ben, so could this incident be a precursor of the disaster to come?

It’ll get complicated

Max Bowden

Ben actor Max, 24, recently teased the drama to come for his character’s love triangle with Callum and Whitney.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Max said: “There’s also so much to come with Callum.

“Ben is starting to develop feelings, something he’s usually capable of dismissing – but Callum and Whitney are planning a wedding, so it’ll get complicated!

“We’ll have to see what happens there,” but does this mean Ben will ruin the couples big day to expose his affair with Callum?

Having suffered heartache this week, last night’s episode saw Callum offering advice to youngster Bobby Beale (Eliot Carrington) as the teenager struggles to adjust to life back in Walford.

Bobby returned to the Square earlier this year after serving time in a young offenders unit following the manslaughter of his sister, Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).

Although Callum did his best to comfort Bobby, it was clear Lucy’s death was still playing on his mind as he was haunted by his sister’s ghost.

A figure similar to Lucy was seen sitting on the other side of the room to Lucy, although actress Hetti Bywater, 24, did not reprise her role for the stint.

Fans of the show were still taken a back by the reappearance of the deceased character, with one writing on Twitter: “still can’t believe lucy beale made a comeback #EastEnders.”

Clearly still riddled by the demons of his past, is Bobby ever going to be able to move on from killing Lucy?

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
