Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is set to go to extreme lengths to escape police questions about the murder of Vincent Hubbard – as he plans to take Raymond and flee Albert Square in EastEnders.
Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) is determined not to give up on finding the truth and so Phil is horrified when she and Howie have been speaking to the police.
Feeling he needs to keep Raymond safe, Phil makes plans to leave, and Denise (Diane Parish) is shocked to the core.
Wiill Phil defy her and kidnap his son before disappearing? Or can he be stopped?
Tameka explained: ‘Howie is the only person who knows what happened and is neutral about it. For Kim somebody has to be held accountable for her husband’s death and Kim is so determined to get that.
‘She didn’t do a police appeal when he was missing, he was dodgy sometimes, but she just always thought that he would come back. Now that it’s official that he’s dead, and Howie is the last person to see him alive, that means something to her.
‘The fact that Howie is going around as Vincent for her means that something needs to be investigated, she needs to find out everything.’
On the matter of Phil, she continued: ‘She doesn’t suspect that he is involved but she does query only for a short time because Vincent and Phil didn’t see eye to eye.
‘If you remember Phil delivered Kim and Vincent’s baby, and there has always been a cool relationship between Kim and Phil, so when Kim does say his name and he is blasé about it there is a bit of a moment but she is not thinking that Phil is anyway involved.’
So as Phil panics, it’s clear that the pain is not over for Kim – and Tameka promises that she will go further to ensure she gets answers.
She teased: ‘It’s going to take time. In her heart of hearts Vincent was always going to come back. Now she knows that’s not the case, looking ahead to times like Christmas where it’s about family and she loves that time of year will be hard for her.
‘She is going to be hurt for a long time. You will see Kim reach her final tether and lines will be crossed, stay tuned to watch!’
