EastEnders viewers will see the cracks show in Janine Butcher’s (Charlie Brooks) nicey-nicey act when she hatches a plan to land a job at the car lot next week.
Jay (Jamie Borthwick) turns her down at first, refusing to fall for her charms – so, in usual Janine style, she reverts to her old tricks and bad girl ways to make sure she gets what she wants.
After Liam (Alfie Deegan) tries to ignore Cindy and fobs off Peter’s (Dayle Hudson) concerns, Janine spots a chance and they team up.
Liam then hypes up Janine to Jay, who takes the bait. Billy (Perry Fenwick) also gets pulled in, but he sees through Janine’s charade and threatens to expose her plot.
Ever the manipulator, Janine works out a way to get what she wants – but will she pull it off?
Meanwhile, Gray (Toby Alexander) has a bad week in the Square. With his money issues mounting, he decides to try to use his legal background to gain a managerial position.
But after he finds out whether he’s been successful or not, Gray later gets the devastating news that his dad has just passed away.
He leans on Whitney (Shona McGarty), telling her he didn’t expect to be so cut up over the loss as he sorts through his dad’s things.
He’s touched when he unearths some childhood memories, and kisses Whitney. Later, when Karen (Lorraine Stanley) spots them together, she’s thrilled.
Romance might also be in the air for Tiff (Maisie Smith) as she catches new boy Aaron’s eye.
She likes what she sees when he stops to ask her for directions, but she admits to Liam that she’s still not ready to date after Keegan (Zack Morris).
Aaron has other ideas however, telling dad Harvey (Ross Boatman) that he’s planning to stick around a little longer.
He asks Tiff out on a date and it takes some persuading – but she eventually agrees.
Elsewhere in Walford, Kat (Jessie Wallace) is shocked to discover what Harvey said to Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha).
Determined that he gets his comeuppance, Kat marches into The Vic and sacks Harvey on the spot, as Harvey attempts to defend himself saying he didn’t mean the comments in that way.
After a frank conversation with Dana (Barbara Smith), Harvey apologises to Ash and appears to smooth things over between them – however Peter is having none of it.
Later, Dana tells her dad she’ll help him get his job back – but only if he makes amends with all of the people he’s upset recently.
