Any EastEnders fan worth their salt is unable to hear the name "Ricky" without thinking of Patsy Palmer’s character Bianca Jackson hollering it halfway across Albert Square at the top of her voice.
So fans of the much-loved character, played by Sid Owen, went into a state of extreme excitement last night, when the evil and conniving Janine Butcher made a call to her big brother Ricky and left him a voicemail, asking her to lend her money to get her out of a jam.
As soon as his name was uttered, Twitter exploded with super fans speculating that this phone call signalled a return to the square for Sid, who left the show back in 2012 after a whopping 24-year stint playing the hapless Ricky.
One said: "I wanna see Ricky return as part of the Janine storyline", while another chipped in with, "Ricky, blast from the past. I can still here Patsy screaming Riiiickkkky".
A third said: “OMG praying for a Ricky return!!!!!"
Unsurprisingly, Janine, the character who everyone loves to hate, has got herself another right old mess, and needs some cold hard cash from her brother after offering her love rival Linda Carter £50,000 to leave Walford.
Although one Twitter user hilariously observed that Ricky might not be the best port of call, saying: "Ah, yes, the extremely wealthy….Ricky?"
But it’s not just money Janine needs help with. She’s got herself in a bit of as a predicament after causing a horrific car crash while her and her love rival Linda were fighting over Linda’s ex husband Mick (played by Danny Dyer).
And as poor old Linda lies in a coma fighting for her life, Janine needs to make sure nobody finds out if was actually her who was driving.

Talking about her character, Charlie Brooks said: "I don’t think there is any end to how far Janine will go. What she feels for Mick is real, he makes her feel safe and protected.
"And this is her one opportunity at having her family, and the perfect dream family that she’s longed for, for so long."
