EastEnders resident Whitney Dean (played by Shona McGarty) has endured rather a lot of turmoil in the last six months after letting Leo King (Tom Wells) into her life. But in a recent scene of the popular BBC One soap, those watching at home noticed a blunder.

The market stallholder thought she had found love with Callum Highway (Tony Clay), but viewers watched intently as he had an affair with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) for many months in the lead up to his wedding to Whitney.
His infidelity was was exposed the day of his wedding to Whitney and while she initially suggested they continue with the ceremony, she soon realised she needed to let him be free and happy.
After weeks of heartbreak, things were looking up for Whitney and then she met the ever-so attentive Leo, who fans knew was the son of Tony King (Chris Coghill) – the man who groomed and sexually assaulted Whitney when she was a teenager.
At first, Whitney thought she had struck lucky with Leo, but cracks started to appear and it wasn’t long before Whitney committed revenge.

In a moment of self-defence combined with rage, Whitney stabbed Leo and killed him during the soap’s 35th anniversary specials.
She has since been on trial for the crime, despite pleading not-guilty with Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) acting as her defence lawyer.
After being granted bail, there was suspicions Whitney would flee Walford in a last ditch attempt to secure freedom.
But in scenes which aired earlier this week, the young woman was in fact being helpful captive by Leo’s vengeful mother Michaela King (Fiona Allen).
After turning up in the Square and holding Whitney at knifepoint, Michaela moved her into a flat in an unknown location and understandably, Whitney was shaken up and banged on the door begging her captor to let her out.
She screamed: “Help me! Help me, somebody, please!”
But those watching at home were confused after spotting an escape route.
One tweeted: “F**k off, you’re telling me, Whitney can’t break that window lol.”

“Why doesn’t Whitney just smash the b****y Window? #Eastenders,” another said.
A third wrote: “Dear Whitney. Break the f***ing window. You’re welcome #EastEnders.”
It wasn’t long before Whitney and Michaela faced one another and spoke about what was happening.
“What do you want from me?” Whitney asked her captor and Michaela replied: “I want you to admit you murdered my son.”

“I already told you!” Whitney pleaded but the older woman was unconvinced and played a voice message from Leo, which claimed his life was in danger.
“I swear to you, I didn’t send any messages!” Whitney screamed.
“You’re a liar!” Michaela hit back. “Once the police have this message they will have all the proof to lick you up for life!”
EastEnders airs Monday at 7.30pm and Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One.
