Eamonn Holmes has offered fans a heartbreaking health update in his latest bid to battle chronic pain.

Concerned fans have urged the star to “keep going” amid his devastating battle.

The GB News presenter, 63, recently underwent a gruelling surgery on his back to help him in his pain battle, and is now undergoing physiotherapy sessions in a bid to recover.

He is relying on crutches to be able to walk after the operation, and was seen attending Piers Morgan’s party using the walking aids earlier this month.

Eamonn opened up on his latest physio session, confessing it was “very tiring” but he “worked hard”.

The former This Morning host said: “Worked hard at my physio this morning!

“Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing."

He went on: “Lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things. For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on.”

Thankfully, supportive fans were on hand to share messages of positivity with the star, as one urged: “Hang in there, Eamonn! I’m sure you’ll be on Strictly soon enough!”

Someone else said: “Aww, bless you. Don’t be too hard on yourself, being in pain is horrible.”

Another suggested: “I do wonder if time at a spa might help as body weight gravity is roughly one third in the pool. Very relaxing!” as Eamonn replied: “Doing a bit of hydrotherapy already. Big help!”

“All that hard work will pay off in the end,” someone else told Eamonn, as he admitted relying on others is “soul destroying”.

Doctors first advised Eamonn against a back op after he dislocated his pelvis and slipped three discs in his spine – but when daily exercise, painkillers and massages weren’t enough, he went on to have the surgery.

He told The Express: “I pray that God will guide my surgeon's hand this week and help me get back to the man I used to be.

“The thing is I might have a way out. So many others will never have that hope and that can be the most crushing pain of all.

"I am hoping that this will be a Back To The Future procedure and that I go back to the way I was 18 months ago."
