Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) was left heartbroken in tonight’s Emmerdale after discovering that Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) was responsible for reporting her to social services.
Throughout the episode, several people, including Harriet and Billy (Jay Kontzle), tried to convince Dawn that calling social services would be the best option.
However, Dawn insisted that Clemmie (Mabel Addison) needed structure and would be best off staying with them.
Things went awry when Clemmie overheard Dawn telling Harriet about her mother’s death and subsequently ran from the house.
Luckily, Billy was on hand to give Clemmie a heart to heart and help to bring her home.
With Billy now on her side, Dawn was shocked when social services arrived wanting to talk to Clemmie.
The couple were then informed that they had been reported, but it didn’t take long for them to find out who was behind this report.
Initially, Dawn suspected Jade (Abigail Uttley), Clemmie’s guardian following the death of her mother, Beth. After finding Clemmie asleep in a dog’s bed on the kitchen floor, Dawn had offered Jade £40 to take the child away.
However, the end of the episode saw Dawn discover that it was in fact Harriet who had alerted social services. Feeling betrayed, Dawn berated Harriet, claiming that she had stabbed her in the back.
Will Dawn ever be able to forgive Harriet? And will she ever see Clemmie again?
Emmerdale continues Monday July 18 at 7:30pm on ITV.
