Britain’s Got Talent’s Alesha Dixon offered big-money deal for Eurovision job

Alesha Dixon is being lined up to host Eurovision.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 44, has had secret talks with bosses about fronting this year’s contest in Liverpool and last night she had been offered a big-money deal.

An insider told the Daily Star Sunday: “Execs approached Alesha about her hosting Eurovision because they think she’d be perfect for it.

“She is a very polished presenter and has decades of experience in showbiz. And she’s a good laugh, so would fit perfectly with the spirit of Eurovision.”

Eurovision bosses plan to hire a string of hosts for the contest. Other names tipped to be asked include AJ Odudu, Rylan Clark and Graham Norton.

Our insider added: “They’re hoping to get the line-up sorted within the next few weeks and then make a big announcement revealing who will be doing it.”

Eurovision is being staged in the UK because 2022’s winning country Ukraine is unable to host due to the ongoing war.

It will be the first time it has been based here since it was broadcast from Birmingham in 1998, when it was hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and Terry Wogan.

Shows will be staged at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, which has capacity for up to 11,000 fans.

Semi-finals are happening on May 9 and 11 ahead of the final on May 13, which will all be shown live on the BBC.

The UK’s act is due to be announced next month.

The odds of us winning are 16-1, behind Norway, Finland, Sweden and top tips Ukraine.
