Bradley Walsh, 60, was on hand to help former teacher Jane and her teammates to try and win themselves a share of a huge jackpot prize on The Chase. The ex-education worker was the last contestant to face Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, 50, after two of her fellow players managed to make it back for the Final Chase with £15,000 in the bank. However, following her performance in the cash-builder, the host of the ITV quiz show was left baffled and jokingly claimed she had been “cheating” and secretly knew all the answers to the questions he was asking.
As the klaxon sounded, bringing the cash-builder to an end, Jane had £9,000 in the pot which she and her teammates were very pleased with.
With the jackpot now standing at £24,000, Bradley said she could have done even better if she hadn’t made one error in the game.
Referring to a question he asked about the board game Chess, the host said: “Jane, I’m not being funny, had you not said checkmate and just check, you’d have hit the top.
“You been cheating?” he asked, with the contestant fiercely opposing his accusation, despite it all being in jest.
“You know how it’s all done, ex-teacher. Is it written on your hands the answers?” the presenter inquired.
“I’ll have to see you after. Stay after,” Bradley told Jane as he mimicked what it would be like if a teacher was telling off their pupils.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote of her performance: “Jane right now on #TheChase might be the best contestant ever. Incredible knowledge.”
Another added: “Great team performance on the Chase, Jane was brilliant. #TheChase,” with a third posting: “Jane for Prime Minister #TheChase.”
“#TheChase Jane thought she was so average but what an amazing woman with lots of knowledge,” a fourth viewer shared.

Paul even shared his congratulations to the former teacher for her efforts, especially when it came to answering one particular question in her cash-builder round.
One of the questions Jane was asked was: “Which Inbetweeners star plays Nick in the 2018 film The Festival?”
The ex-education worker correctly guessed the answer being Joe Thomas, which The Sinnerman star was blown away by.
“Congratulations Jane, to be a player in a team this good takes some doing.
“As well as that, this show has been going for ten years now, and I reckon your Joe Thomas answer is just about the best answer I have ever seen in a cash-builder, he said.

“I know Joe Thomas and I don’t think even he would know the answer to that question,” Paul added before the pair went head-to-head.
Jane managed to defeat The Chaser and made it back for the Final Chase, where the trio joined forces and won the game.
Each one of them walked away with £8,000 in their back pocket after The Sinnerman failed to knock them out one final time.
Commenting on the result of the game, one viewer wrote on Twitter: “All deserved winners, well-done team! #TheChase.”
Another opined: “Very well done team, even if it could’ve been £25K each. £8K is still a very nice amount of money for a day’s work. #TheChase.”
There has also been some welcome news for fans of the afternoon quiz show as its spin-off, Beat The Chasers is set to start filming for the second series next month.
TVZone is reporting recording for the new episodes will see the audience sat in socially distanced pods to adhere to coronavirus rules.
The first series aired earlier this year and over six million viewers tuned in on the opening night to see the primetime special.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
