Bob Saget proposed to wife Kelly Rizzo while watching Stranger Things

LATE actor Bob Saget once revealed that he proposed to his wife Kelly Rizzo as the pair watched Stanger Things.

Saget was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando around 4pm by hotel security on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene as reports later emerged that the star may have suffered a heart attack or a stroke.

The Full House Star popped the question to Rizzo in November 2017 and shared the happy news on his Instagram.

He joked: "Love the people in this picture. The most loving and legendary @George_Shapiro Katie Killean & of course my gal Kelly.

“In case you're wondering, we were celebrating our engagement— and I know George and I will be very happy together."

At the time, Rizzo also shared the engagement news on social media – showing off the impressive ring.

"Who needs pearls??? Enjoying my favourite food with my new favourite accessory," she captioned the photo.

In a interview with People, Saget later shared how he and Rizzo has been settling down to watch the Netflix show when he nipped to the bathroom.  

There, he had secretly concealed an engagement ring for four days and firmly believed that the time was right to pop the question.

"We were watching Stranger Things on the iPad, and then I got up to go to the restroom," he recalled.

“I opened the safe and I took out a ring that I had been hiding for four days and I got on one knee."

"And she said 'What are you doing?' and she got very emotional and so did I."

In 2018, the couple tied the knot at a ceremony on Santa Monica beach, California.

At the time, the couple exclaimed that they were “damn happy” as they shared the magical moment with fans on social media.

In the years to follow, Rizzo and Saget made a lot of posts together, including a touching photo on Christmas Eve taken just two weeks before the comedian’s death.

Rizzo added that her husband was “finally” in Chicago for the holidays, making it possible for them to spend it together.

“Cheers to everyone on this special holiday. May you all be surrounded by peace and love.”

Saget's death was confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

"Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," the office tweeted.

"The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

Saget was best known for his role as Danny Tanner, the patriarch of the Tanner family in Full House. He played the role opposite John Stamos and Dave Coulier.

His TV daughters were played bare Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and twin Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing Michelle Tanner.


Saget’s family broke their silence following the actor and comedian’s shocking death.

“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away,” the family said in a statement.

“He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”

Saget’s family asked for privacy at this time but invited fans to “join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”

He is survived by Rizzo and his three daughters Lara, Aubrey and Jennifer from his first marriage to Sherri Kramer.
