Best true story movies to look out for in 2019

There’s a wole host of cracking films coming next year including tales of violence and tragedy, amazing survival and some truly outlandish rock ‘n’ rock antics.

Some of cinema’s biggest names have brought stories based on some incredible real life tales to life for the big screen all coming up in 2019.

There’s the story of charming serial killer Ted Bundy, of the notorious gangster who is said to have killed Jimmy Hoffa, a retelling of the miracle survival of a boy who "drowned" after falling into an icy lake and biopics of Sir Elton John and the rock band Motley Crue.

The film is about notorious US serial killer Ted Bundy, told through the eyes of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to believe the truth about him for years.

Based on the book ‘I Heard You Paint Houses’ by Charles Brandt – a biography of Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran, who confessed to Brandt how he carried out more than 25 hits for the mob.

He had links to the Bufalino crime family, and was a key figure in the corruption of unions by organised crime.

The former US soldier carried out hits for his friend, Jimmy Hoffa.

‘Painting houses’ is the code used for killing people.

The book revealed how Sheeran eventually was ordered to kill Hoffa.

Hoffa disappeared on 30 July 1975.

Sheeran was named as one of only two non-italians on a list of most-wanted mob figures.

Incredible story of survival

Based on the real-life story of how John Smith who fell through ice and drowned in Lake St Louis when he was 14, and was dead for nearly an hour.

CPR was performed unsuccessfully for 27 minutes.

In the film, a pulse returns after his mother comes into the room and prays, against all predictions he walked out of hospital a little over two weeks later completely healed.

His mother wrote a Christian novel about the ‘miracle’. John Smith now speaks at church groups.
