Anton Du Beke has been a professional on Strictly Come Dancing since the series first began and is the only Ballroom and Latin dancer to have taken part in every series. Judge Bruno Tonioli was forced to miss this year’s Strictly due to coronavirus travel restrictions but Strictly fans have made it clear Anton is now available to step into his shoes.

Strictly viewers were sad to see Anton and Jacqui Smith become the first couple to be voted out of this year’s series.

The professional dancer will now have some time on his hands and BBC viewers are adamant he should step into Bruno’s shoes.

This years Strictly has seen just three judges on the panel as Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas carry on without Bruno.

However, viewers are desperate to return to a four-judge panel and think Anton is just the person for the job.

One tweeted: “Just make Anton a judge please #Strictly.”

“Now that he’s out Anton should become the 4th judge whilst Bruno is in the US #Strictly,” another suggested.

A third wrote: “#Strictly seriously needs to make Anton a stand-in judge for the rest of the season. The show works so much better when the scores are out of 40!”

“#Strictly here’s an idea – now Anton and Jacqui are out – let’s make Anton the fourth judge for the rest of the series!” Someone else added.

“Poor old Anton, so sad to see him go so early on. Let’s make him a judge now!!!! #Strictly,” a fifth shared.

“The petition to make Anton the fourth judge for the remainder of the 2020 series starts here..!!

Last weekend, Anton and Jacqui became the first couple to leave Strictly but the former Home Secretary revealed she would continue to support her co-stars.

Jacqui said: “I had the greatest adventure it’s possible to imagine.

“I’m just sorry I can’t continue it with this man who has been absolutely fantastic and gorgeous to be with.

“But I don’t feel too much shame in losing to these guys because they are a fantastic bunch of dancers, they really are. So I’ll be watching you and supporting you.

“To Anton, I would like to say you have been just an absolute joy to be with.

“I am so pleased and proud to have spent this time with you.

“And to everybody on the programme I don’t think people realise just how brilliant the team is that put this programme together and if ever we need Strictly, we need it now so thank you so much.”

Anton added: “Well I’ve loved every second of being in the studio with you.

“We have laughed, you have a shocking sense of humour I can’t begin to tell you.

“You are just the best and I’ve loved it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday at 7pm.
