TV presenter Jasmine Harman was left heartbroken after her beloved dog was rushed in for emergency surgery – just months after the death of another family pet.
Jasmine, 47, who presents A Place In The Sun, took to social media to share her woes with her fans as her puppy Astro, who at only five months old, had swallowed a ball and had to undergo emergency abdominal surgery.
But this comes just months after Jasmine's other dog Jet, had died last July after swallowing a ball while out walking with her friend.
Taking to social media, Jasmine wrote: "So, after losing one dog, and coming close to losing another I want to remind people that there are certain balls which are NOT SUITABLE for dogs. Very squashy balls can be easily swallowed."
She added: "It happened so quickly, I didn’t have a chance to tell him to leave it. The vet said that they could not induce vomiting because he had swallowed it whole, and it could choke him on the way up. "
She continued: "They also couldn’t let it pass through naturally in case it caused an obstruction in his intestine, which could result in a ruptured bowel, another potentially fatal situation. So life-threatening surgery under general anaesthetic was the least risky option. "

Jasmine has been co-presenting A Place In The Sun since 2004 alongside Jonnie Irwin .
And her time on the show has had its fair share of iconic moments. Most recently, she reduced a couple to tears after showing them a property in the Charente region of France, that was £40,000 over their minimum budget.
After showing the couple a number of properties which did not meet their liking, Jasmine then stumbled across the third and final one – which blew them away.
And their offer of £285,000 was accepted.
