WWE star Cody Rhodes out for NINE MONTHS after having surgery on torn pectoral tendon which left fans shocked | The Sun

WWE have confirmed star Cody Rhodes will miss NINE MONTHS of action after successfully undergoing surgery on his torn pectoral tendon.

The American Nightmare was injured more than a week ago on an episode of Raw.


Despite carrying the injury, Rhodes stepped inside the ring against three-time WWE champion Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell last Sunday.

Rhodes showed off the horror injury before the match, taking his coat off, displaying his bruised right pec.

The son of wrestling legend Dusty went on to win the match in spectacular fashion and he and Rollins were showered with praise in the aftermath.

But WWE has announced Rhodes will miss nine months of action after successfully undergoing surgery on his torn pectoral tendon.

WWE tweeted: "After a vicious attack by Seth 'Freakin' Rollins, Rhodes had successful surgery on Thursday performed by Dr. Jeffery Dugas to reattach his pectoral tendon.

"Rhodes will face a long recovery and will be unable to compete for nine months."

The lay-off means Rhodes COULD miss the 2023 Royal Rumble at the start of next year.

However, others are optimistic Rhodes will make another major comeback at the event.
