US racing tips: Templegate's best bets for the meeting at Fonner Park on Sky Sports Racing on Monday

FONNER PARK

WITT NINE doesn’t have a lot to beat here and went well for a long way over a mile on the turf track at Houston last time. This switch back to dirt looks a wise move and the drop in distance is another major plus.

10.27

SLEEPY TURTLE has been knocking on the door over this trip and a solid third last time when just being run out of it in the closing stages. He’s had just seven career starts and should be open to improvement.

10.54

TREVOR’S FOREVER doesn’t win as many as he should but generally runs in better races than this and clocked a good time when fourth here last time. A jockey with a high win rate takes over today.

YE BE JUDGED landed the odds two runs ago and was forced wide when having to settle for second last time out. This jockey and trainer team have a good win record and there should be lots of improvement on his fourth career start.

11.48

AMERICAN LEAGUE has a strong record in this grade and he drops to his favourite level after meeting trouble in running on his course debut last time. He was three wins and two places from five runs over this trip so looks the one to beat.

12.15

GIANT GAMBLE was impressive when winning here last time with almost two lengths in hand having led from pillar to post. He takes a drop in grade here so anything like that form would be good enough.

12.42

WHERE’S RUFUS had plenty left up his sleeve when ‘winning’ by a comfortable three lengths here last time out. It was surprise to see the stewards demote for blocking a rival after such an easy win. He has clocked some good speed figures and can make the most of the inside stall.

1.09

BIG GUY IAN was in winning form at Will Rogers Downs last time against what looked like stronger opposition than today’s. He missed the kick and had to come wide before scoring by an impressive two lengths. His trainer does well at this level and he can follow up.

1.36

GONE PREACHIN didn’t get the run of the race when sent off favourite here last time. It was still a good run to finish second, beaten a length, and he has been out of the frame just once in 10 runs around here.
