SINGAPORE – With a swimming career that spans 14 years and counting, national athlete Amanda Lim is no stranger to missed opportunities.
When she completed her diploma in 2011, she wanted to pursue a college education and swimming career in the United States. But after transferring the credits earned from her diploma in sport science and exercise management, she realised that it was too late as she would only have 1 1/2 years in the US instead of the usual four years.
