Rob Gronkowski’s deadline for Patriots return is looming

Rob Gronkowski is on the clock.

The former Patriots tight end, who retired from the NFL in March after nine seasons, received an open invitation from team owner Robert Kraft after the retirement announcement with the hopes of Gronkowski returning to New England ahead of the playoffs, reported.

Gronkowski, currently on the IR/retired list, has less than 30 days to reach a decision about his NFL future, per league rules. If he remains on the list after Nov. 30, he will be unable to play.

Should Gronkowski choose to remain off the field this season, he has plenty to keep him busy.

In August, the five-time Pro Bowler announced his partnership with CBD Medic. Last month, he spoke about how CBD usage in the league could influence his decision to return.

“I don’t want to be banned from playing the sport I love because I’m using a product that anyone can buy right off the shelf at their local pharmacy,” Gronkowski said at the time. “I’m not really sure why it’s banned.”

In addition to business partnerships, Gronkowski recently joined Fox as an NFL analyst.

As for the Patriots, they remain atop the AFC East at 8-1.
