Patriots thank Eagles QB Nick Foles for help with playoff positioning

Tom Brady and the Patriots clinched their 10th consecutive AFC East championship on Sunday, but it was the help from Eagles QB Nick Foles that had them even more thankful.

Three-hundred twenty-two days after Foles led the Eagles to their Super Bowl LII win over the Patriots, New England thanked Philadelphia's quarterback on Twitter for his performance in the Eagles' Week 16 win against the Texans, which vaulted the Patriots into the No. 2 slot in the AFC playoff standings.

Foles completed 35 of 49 passes for a franchise-record 471 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the 32-30 win.

At 10-5, the Patriots currently sit in second place, meaning they would have a first-round bye in the playoffs if they beat the 4-11 Jets next week.
