Next West Brom manager odds: Howe and Silva favourites to replace Bilic after sack claims, Gerrard and Terry also backed

EDDIE HOWE is favourite to be appointed the next permanent West Brom manager if Slaven Bilic is sacked.

That's according to bookmakers Paddy Power, who've installed the former Cherries boss as 2/1 market leader.

Howe, who's also been tipped to replace Neil Lennon at Celtic, is narrowly ahead of Marco Silva in the betting.

The Portuguese tactician has been out of work since being axed by Everton in December 2019 and is second favourite at 4/1 with Patrick Vieira priced at 6/1.

There's a surprise inclusion for Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard, who's offered at 8/1 despite the Ibrox club boasting a 13-point lead in Scotland.

Next comes John Terry. The Aston Villa assistant is a sizeable 10/1 to arrive at the The Hawthorns – although he's still odds-on to take the vacant role at Derby.

Darren Fletcher, who made 97 appearances for the club, is at 16s.

And then there's the inevitable inclusion of Sheffield Wednesday's Tony Pulis, who spent nearly three years and 121 games as Baggies boss.

Outsider of the bunch, and surely included in Paddy Power's odds for trolling purposes, is Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo at 50/1.

Slaven Bilic's West Brom side are second from bottom in the Premier League having collected six points from their opening 11 games.

And recent reports claim his position is under increasing scrutiny ahead of the festive fixtures.

The Daily Mail claim Saturday's bout with Newcastle will be pivotal.

It's thought that Bilic, 52, will be given his marching orders if West Brom lose at St James' Park.

And Baggies chiefs have already started the process of identifying his replacement.
