Michael van Gerwen ‘gets the badge in’ next to new motor with darts fans in bits

Michael van Gerwen has been lauded for 'getting the badge in' after posing alongside his new BMW X6 M50 in the showroom in a recent Instagram post.

The Dutch star was seen showing off his new wheels on social media, following an upload from a BMW account. The three-time darts world champion also shared the snap, and caught the eye of many of his fans across both Instagram and Twitter.

Not for his shiny, new motor though, but more for his choice of clothing, as van Gerwen posed in a black Stone Island jacket – a brand that has become synonymous with the 'get the badge in' trend.

The trend shares shots of the public showing off their Stone Island gear, with the famous badge – found on the arm – often being made the centre of attention. Amid the craze, a Twitter account has been made to share the best 'get the badge in' efforts.

And Van Gerwen has become the latest person to feature, with his BMW snap being shared to the account's 178,000 followers. Sharing the shot, the account added the caption: "Michael van Gerwen here with an incredible #badgein.

"BMW drivers already have a reputation on the roads, imagine looking through your rear view mirror and see a #badgein too, dodgy overtakes galore. I’m convinced if he was left handed he’d have a stoney darts shirt. 9.9/10."

Often a fan-favourite, the Dutch star once again felt the love for his 'stoney' pose. One Twitter user – @J316T – was seemingly a big fan of van Gerwen's fashion choices, writing: "That chap knows clobber."
