Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Cristiano Ronaldo Chelsea deal BACK ON, Milinkovic-Savic '£57.5m BID', Arnautovic deal OFF | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED could finally be about to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The view from both the United and Lazio camps is said to be that this time around a deal could be done, with United said to be lining up a £57.5m bid.

Milinkovic-Savic has been a Red Devils target since the days of Jose Mourinho and United's poor performance in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton has led to renewed calls to strengthen the midfield.

Further down the line though is said to be a move for Adrien Rabiot, with some rumours from Italy suggesting Scott McTominay could go in the opposite direction.

But a move for hot-headed Austrian Marko Arnautovic is OFF.

Meanwhile the Red Devils have released a video which shows wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo getting BOOED by home fans.

And it is claimed that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner may yet end up at Chelsea by the end of the transfer window.

Adrien Rabiot believes he is sure to start in Manchester United's "weak midfield" as he bids to make France's World Cup squad, according to reports.

“It was a bet that we won, he responded on the pitch and we want to move forward with him.

"We don’t want to sell him, but to strengthen the team to have an important season.”

    Good morning Manchester United fans

Bologna director Marco di Vaio has revealed the club are “not planning” on selling Marko Arnautovic after reportedly rejecting a bid worth around £7million from the Red Devils for the 33-year-old.

He said, via Fabrizio Romano: “Man United on Arnautovic? We’re proud of Man Utd interest for Marko but we are not planning to sell him.”

Di Vaio added: “We want to keep him at Bologna as president said, he’s key part of our project – there’s not even price tag.”

While Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic said: "I would be happy for Marko [in case he joins United] but I don’t think he will leave.

"I spoke to Arnautovic about Man Utd proposal – in case he leaves we will see… but I think he will stay."

Reports yesterday suggested the Red Devils have agreed a £15m deal with Juventus to sign Adrien Rabiot.

"If you wanted a back-up striker you wouldn't go wrong with Danny Welbeck.

"You tell him he'll play 15-20 games across the season, fill in for Cristiano [Ronaldo], give us the legs and give us the movement.

"He can get in behind and creates the space for the likes of Bruno [Fernandes]."

Soundess – Rabiot not an "upgrade"

Graeme Souness doesn't reckon the signing of Adrien Rabiot is an "upgrade" to Manchester United's current midfield options.

The Red Devils are believed to have agreed a deal worth £15million to sign the Frenchman.

But Souness told talkSPORT: “He was at PSG and ran down his contract and went to Juve. He’s not done it there.

“I’m not sure that’s much of an upgrade on what they’ve got there already.

“What it stinks of is if you are signing him at this time, he’s not your first choice. Maybe your second. It is 24 days to go until the window closes, one game gone, I think you are reacting to things now.

    “That’s when you make mistakes.”
