LeBron James’ injury history — he rarely misses games — is remarkable

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley said “your best ability is availability” on the most recent episode of LeBron James’s 'The Shop' on HBO.

Of all the superlatives heaped on James, durability ranks right up with his power, grace, shot-making, passing and basketball IQ.

James rarely misses games because of injury, and even last season at 33 years old and in his 15th NBA season, he played in all 82 games.

But James’ short-term availability for the Los Angeles Lakers is in question after he sustained a strained groin in the Lakers’ 127-101 victory over Golden State on Tuesday. He left the game in the third quarter after he heard something “pop” and didn’t return.

He was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury. But James being James told ESPN the muscle was intact, and he hadn’t ruled out playing Thursday against Sacramento.

If James was worried, he isn’t showing it. He has posted several times on social media since the injury.

“With me, with injuries, I am never too concerned about them,” he told reporters after the game.
