Shane Bieber is scoring off the mound as he continues to recover from a shoulder strain that’s sidelined the Indians pitcher since mid-June.

The 26-year-old proposed to longtime girlfriend Kara Maxine Kavajecz over the weekend in San Francisco, and shared photos from the engagement to Instagram on Monday.

“Forever my girl,” Bieber captioned his post, adding the date he got down on one knee, “7•17•2021.”

Kavajecz shared the same photos on her separate Instagram page with the caption, “I always knew.”

The 24-year-old fashion blogger shared a number of Instagram story posts celebrating the engagement news, and showed off her stunning diamond sparkler, along with an outdoor candle-lit picnic set up by Bieber.

Kavajecz added that the couple decided to wait until Monday to share the engagement news so they could “soak in absolutely everything with [their] closest people.”

Bieber and Kavajecz met while attending UC Santa Barbara, and have been dating since 2017.

The Indians re-shared Bieber’s post to the team’s Instagram account (via stories) and congratulated their ace and his fiancée.

Bieber has been sidelined for the Indians since June 13, when he exited the mound against Seattle with right shoulder soreness. He was later placed on the injured list with a shoulder strain.

“He’s had no setbacks,” Cleveland assistant pitching coach, Ruben Niebla said this week, noting Bieber has been progressing.

“He’s not going to feel 100% still, but that’s expected. We’re looking for progress and that’s what he’s doing.”

Indians manager Terry Francona said Monday that Bieber is “getting close to getting a ball in his hand, which I think he’s really excited about.”
