Golf tips and betting offers – Three picks for the Saudi International: Claim risk free £20 bet with Paddy Power

THE European Tour is in Saudi Arabia this week with a stacked field.

Masters champion Dustin Johnson is the favourite, followed by Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed, who won in controversial style last week.

And there are also some European heavyweights with Tyrrell Hatton, Paul Casey, Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland.

Paddy Power are offering new customers a risk free £20 bet, which you can claim here*.

To take advantage of the offer simply sign up, and place a £20 bet on any sportsbook market, and if it loses Paddy Power will refund you in cash.

And SunSport's golf correspondent David Facey brings you his tips for the event.

Hot tip: Viktor Hovland 16-1

The Norwegian star is up to a career-high of 12th in the world rankings after finishing joint runner-up to Patrick Reed in San Diego.

The sky is the limit for the 23 year old, who is a cert to make his Ryder Cup debut in September.

He also has a win and a third place in his last four starts, and looked like edging past the controversial Reed before stumbling to three bogeys in the final five holes.

That came from pushing too hard, and he should have learned a valuable lesson.

Medium price: Bernd Wiesberger, 60-1

The Austrian ace overcame a bad start to earn his followers some each way cash when he finished tied for sixth in the Dubai Desert Classic – he was three over after five holes, but eventually finished nine under, despite his opening 73.

The fact he has missed the cut on both previous stars in Saudi is a concern. But he had suffered the same fate in Dubai, and as long as he makes a half decent start he should force his way into the mix again.

Longshot: Dean Burmester, 125-1.

Big odds for the South African, who finished just outside the top ten in last year’s event, bouncing back with three impressive rounds after opening with a scratchy one over 71.

And he clearly loves desert golf.

He has twice finished fourth in the hotly-contested DP World Tour Championship, was third in last year’s Desert Classic, and has a top ten in Abu Dhabi.

Looked rusty with three doubles and seven bogeys last week, but still finished two under!
