And Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate for a turnaround in Spurs' fortunes with bottom club Watford their next opponents in two weeks – while also eyeing a new striker in Erling Braut Haaland.

    Stepping in as late cover for the injured N'Golo Kante, the midfielder helped his side stretch out a six-point lead over third place in Group H.

  • TWO Spurs stars took part in England's nightmare defeat to Czech Republic tonight.

    Tanguy Ndombele was a record signing in the summer an the ex-striker believes the coach doesn't back the Frenchman.

    He told Football Insider: “You do start to wonder did Pochettino sign him? I know when I went to Spurs, yes, Martin Jol was the manager and yes, he said he wanted to sign me but I think the real driving force was Damien Comolli.

    “Now I’m wondering did Pochettino even want to sign him? Did Pochettino say I want to spend all this money on this player? Because at the minute he looks nowhere near that level.”
