MANCHESTER UNITED are lining up an offer for Newcastle's £50million midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already snapped up £50m Arron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and £18m Swansea starlet Daniel James.

But the Old Trafford chief now wants to wrap up a deal for a third homegrown young star as he rebuilds United.

However, Toon don't want to sell so are demanding at least £50m for the 21-year-old, , claim Sky Sports.

JUVENTUS are ready to enter the £75million race for Manchester United's wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku.

A mega-money switch to Inter Milan had been on the cards for the Belgium hitman but this has now stalled despite the player agreeing terms.

So the Italian champs are now ready to hijack the transfer of the former Chelsea star, who struggled for game time under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sky Sports Italia claim Juve have made contact with United chiefs and are ready to meet their demands.

United want to recoup most of the money they paid for the frontman when he joined from Everton in 2017 in a deal worth up to £90m to bring in more new signings.

The Belgian has even said he will take a pay cut as he wants out at Old Trafford and fancies a crack at Italy.

The Red Devils star has joined up with United for pre-season training but his agent, Federico Pastorello, is working hard to seal a move.

United snubbed Inter's bid of £62m, initally a loan before a permanent deal in two years' time.

The Italians need to sell Mauro Icardi – ironically a Juve target – to get the money to fund a move for Lukaku.

Although the Old Lady have started talks on Lukaku, it could help them in terms of agreeing a fee with their Seria A rivals for striker Icardi, claim Sky Sports Italia.

MANCHESTER UNITED have identified Spain star Saul Niguez as their new No1 transfer target should wantaway Paul Pogba finally seal his exit, according to reports.

The Red Devils are thought to be closing in on a move for Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.

But reports in Spain now claim Solskjaer has turned his attention to Saul in the 11th hour.

However, United may struggled to land the Atletico Madrid midfielder, 24, as he is just two years into a nine-year deal signed in 2017.

That means Saul is under contract at the La Liga giants until 2026 and would therefore almost certainly cost a fortune to lure to Old Trafford.

Atleti have also recently lost Rodri, who joined Manchester City in a club-record £63million move earlier this week.

ANDER HERRERA left Manchester United after they refused to meet his £350,000-a-week salary demands, reports claim.

The midfielder has joined French champs Paris Saint-Germain after his contract with the Premier League side expired.

And according to Goal the 29-year-old wanted a whopping five-year deal worth £18million to stay at Old Trafford.

That would have made him the second-highest earning player at the club, not far behind flop Alexis Sanchez's £390,000-a-week.
