Reiss Nelson has hailed his brother for helping keep him on the right path, admitting it would have been easy getting caught up in the wrong crowd.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, the Arsenal forward said “A lot of my best friends were doing the wrong stuff, got caught up in the wrong stuff, and they were top, top footballers.”
Nelson grew up on the Aylesbury Estate in south London, regarded as one of the roughest in the capital.
The Arsenal forwards siblings Ricky and Tessa, both youth workers helped keep their brothers head screwed on.
“All the time after school I didn’t really have another choice, I’d either go to my brother’s youth work in Peckham or my sister’s in Albany Road.”
Brother Ricky's work was done.
The moment he realised was when he embraced his little brother after the 2017 Community Shield match at Wembley Stadium.
“Reiss, you’re on the way to the top now so I can leave you be, you know what you want to do”.
Turkish side Besiktas are set to hold talks with Arsenal over the permanent transfer of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
According to Turkish Football the Super Lig giants are pleased with the midfielder and are keen to see him stay beyond his loan spell.
The only sticking point may be his €18m option to buy which was included in the loan deal.
Elneny has settled into life well in Istanbul making 23 appearances this season.
If a permanent deal cannot be agreed, a loan deal is not out of the realms of possibility.
Elneny still remains in close contact with his former teammates, and even had a visit from friend Mesut Özil .

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a shock swoop to get former ace Aaron Ramsey back to the club.
The 29-year-old joined Juventus last summer having left the North London club on a free transfer.
Ramsey who has always struggled with injuries seemingly hasn't seen a change in luck having missed eight games through injury.
The Welsh international has made 19 appearances scoring two for The Old Lady.
He was subbed on in Juve's shock 2-1 loss to Verona on Saturday in a game which has now left them behind Inter Milan in the title race.

Brazil and Italy are reportedly trying to convince Arsenal starlet Gabi Martinelli to pledge his international allegiance to them.
According to football.london, Brazil national team coordinator Juninho Paulista has held talks with the player in the hope to secure the youngsters international future.
The Brazil born attacker has featured for Brazil's U23's but is eligible for a Italian passport.
Brazil will be hoping to acquire his services ahead of this summers Olympics in Tokyo.
RB Leipzig rejected Arsenal’s £50million bid for defender Dayot Upamecano – because they are holding out for a stunning £82m.
The Bundesliga contenders are looking to make as much cash as possible out of the French defender, 21.
Upamecano has impressed for the German side this season and could force his way into the French team for Euro 2020, after a string of impressive displays.
He was solid at the back as Leipzig played out a 0-0 draw against title rivals Bayern on Sunday.
