The legendary ‘Whisk man’ has recreated his iconic Come Dine With Me moment a decade on.

Wedding DJ Kev Riley became a cult favourite when his dinner party faux pas on the Channel 4 cooking contest went viral back in 2013.

Viewers of the beloved Sunday evening TV show will remember when Riley shoved an entire whisk into his mouth in the middle of preparing a meal for his guests.

The moment has become a classic in British reality television as viewers were both repulsed and fascinated by his actions.

And to celebrate a whole 10 years passing since the iconic moment, Kev has now recreated it in an advert for Ritz crackers.

In the new video, he dresses up smartly in a red apron as he welcomes friends over for dinner.

Taking to the kitchen once more, Kev plans a three-course meal, including soup, roast chicken dinner, cheese and crackers.

He wastes no time in recreating his whisk moment, promptly engulfing the entire thing in his jaws once more.

Kev then put his whisk back in the food, much to the horror of people on TikTok.

In his original 2013 appearance, a younger Kev said he was ‘very nervous’ as he embarked on making a Malted Milk cheesecake.

Kev has not let his cooking disasters hold him back from a successful career as a wedding DJ

‘Baking and cooking does not come naturally for me,’ he said sheepishly. However he grew in confidence as he stirred his cheesecake filling.

Without giving it a second thought he shoved the whisk in his mouth – so cementing his place as a British legend forever.

When asked later on about why he chose to shove the whisk in his mouth, Kev said he ‘didn’t know’.

He told the Curios Cast podcast: ‘Do you know what? Loads of people ask me that, and I don’t suppose I know the answer.

‘It was just something I did to make her [the producer] laugh really. And I knew at the time that I did it – because they all absolutely wet themselves laughing – I thought, “That’s definitely gonna be in the show.”‘

Unsurprisingly, Kev finished the dinner party show in last place.

However, he has not let his cooking disasters hold him back from a successful career.

His DJ Facebook page is rated 4.9 out of 5 stars, with many a generous review.

Kev also offers videos on video-sharing platform Cameo, with his description reading: ‘Just a regular northern lad, famous for putting a kitchen utensil in my mouth whilst on primetime TV.’

You can purchase one for just £23 – and can claim your very own personalised whisk video.

Where is Kev ‘The Whisk Guy’ from Come Dine With Me now?

Fans of kitschy British reality TV will fondly recall the bizarre moment Come Dine With Me contestant Kev Riley crammed an entire whisk into his mouth while tasting his pudding.

In a 2012 episode of the Channel 4 show Kev, from Burnley, was whisking the chocolate filling for his ‘Millie’s malted milk cheesecake’ and then put the whole utensil in his cake hole ‘to see what it tastes like’. ‘Perfect,’ he concluded.

The clip and the still of Kev with the whisk in his mouth became a viral sensation, with millions of jokes made about the amateur dinner party host.

Kev says he inhaled the whisk ‘in a moment of madness’ but says he would do it again if he go back as ‘it’s given me fun moments’

‘I feel like the producer of the show was feeling a bit sorry for me. I’m a non-chef, non-cook – had never watched Come Dine With Me in my life.

‘She [the producer] was even helping me chop my veg off camera.’

He told Josh & Archie: ‘When it came to making the desert I was just stirring the bowl and I just shouted over to her and she turned round and I did that.’

The cameraman started laughing and Kev said he asked: ‘That won’t be actually in the show, will it?’

‘Definitely,’ the producer replied.

Kev said he realised it was bigger than just a small moment when he went for a meal and instead of a knife and fork, he was given two whisks beside his plate.

These days Kev has a day job in merchant services, providing card machines for businesses – and he also performs as a DJ on the weekends.

‘I carry a whisk now in my DJ bag because if I don’t the wedding venue ask for a whisk, which is an industrial one which is that big,’ he said.
