It’s the end of the year, and critics from many major news organizations (including this one) are rounding up lists of the best TV shows of the year. But what about the best shows from your point of view?
To find out what our readers love to watch, we asked them. In USA TODAY’s TV Facebook group, Yes I’m Still Watching, we encouraged group members to provide their own lists of the best TV shows of 2018. And boy, did they respond.
So to line up against the USA TODAY list of the best TV shows of the year, we tallied the shows with the most mentions in our Facebook group. There was no limitation on the number of shows readers could choose, and no rankings were required. This, of course, is a small sampling of readers who chose to share their picks, so it isn’t representative of all readers. Still, it’s an interesting mix of shows that highlights just how fragmented TV has become, even among a group of very dedicated viewers.
Here are the 10 shows with the most votes:
After the top 10 shows, the picks were more splintered; some counted just one or two votes. Here are the next 10 shows, which fall more into the “honorable mention” category: “9-1-1” (Fox); “Better Call Saul” (AMC); “Billions” (Showtime); “Bodyguard” (Netflix); “The Kominsky Method” (Netflix); “A Million Little Things” (ABC); “Ozark” (Netflix); “Pose” (FX); “Ray Donovan” (Showtime); and “The Rookie” (ABC).
