The Real Reason Prince William and Prince Harry are Splitting Households

Prince Harry and Prince William are set to split their households formally. The idea, which began months ago, has materialized in recent weeks and the formal split may be finished within a matter of weeks. The goal, according to Elle, is to have the households split entirely by the time Meghan Markle gives birth to the couple’s first child. Markle is rumored to be due in April.

While the formal split sounds ominous, there are several
reasons for the decision, and you’ll be surprised to find out why the brothers
are parting ways.

Separate courts will reflect different responsibilities

In order to utilize independent courts, Prince William and
Prince Harry need to formally split their household. A court is a group of
individuals that are used in the day-to-day needs of the royal family. Separate
courts for the two brothers make perfect sense. William, who is second in line
for the throne has vastly different daily responsibilities than Harry, who is
now 6th in line for the throne.

The Duchess of Sussex today made her first visit as Patron to Mayhew, an animal welfare charity working to better the lives of cats, dogs and communities in London and beyond. Mayhew has offered a rehoming service for the last 130 years for rescued animals. Their work, however, now extends beyond this. For instance, the charity’s community vet clinic in London looks to provide low-cost preventative treatment. Mayhew also provide services internationally, in Afghanistan, Georgia Russia and India. @kensingtonroyal @themayhew

The different courts would work with each brother on their
royal duties and responsibilities. The courts would also include separate media
teams for the royal couples. Considering their popularity in the media, it
stands to reason that different groups would have an easier time dealing with
the couples’ media needs.

The brothers hope to ease tension between their wives

Meghan Markle and Kate
Middleton are rumored to be feuding. While the pair were pictured together
at Christmas looking perfectly happy, it is said that the two are having a
difficult time getting along. According to Fox
, the trouble between the two duchesses began before Markle was
officially part of the family.

An argument over bridesmaid dresses allegedly left Middleton
in tears. The pair aren’t best friends, and that’s okay, but both Harry and
William seem to agree that some space would probably help the family work
together more efficiently. Separating households would allow the families to
operate more independently.

Prince Harry and Meghan are moving

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving to Frogmore
Cottage. The pair, who currently resides on the grounds of Kensington Palace
has decided to create some physical distance that would allow them to live a
quieter life. Kensington Palace has a great deal going on the day-to-day, and
the hustle and bustle doesn’t sit well with the pair.

Frogmore Cottage is located about 30 minutes away from London in Windsor. The couple has spent over $3 million renovating the cottage that was once used as quarters for royal workers. They are currently in the process of turning the cottage back into a one-family dwelling after it was split into separate units, according to Cosmopolitan.

It would make sense that a different home base would require a different court. The formal splitting of the household seems to be just that, a formality to make life easier for the royal brothers.
