David and Victoria Beckham

Last year marked 21 years since David and Victoria’s Beckingham Palace wedding.

While football superstar David admits he’s made mistakes in the past, they stay together because of love above anything else.

He said: "Of course you make mistakes over the years, we all know marriage is difficult at times and it's about working through it.

"Whenever we've come up against tough times, we know each other better than anybody knows us, so we talk.

"Do we stay together because it's a brand? Of course not. We stay together because we love each other."

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick

Last year, Matthew and Sarah Jessica celebrated 23 years of marriage.

When questioned what the secret to their milestone marriage is, actor Matthew said: “Communicating. Don’t go to bed mad.”

Meanwhile, Sex and The City star Sarah Jessica says: 'I'm sure I'm annoying and, you know, there are times that he annoys me, and that's what makes it interesting!'

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas

Married for 20 years, the age gap defying couple proved those original critics wrong, having stayed together for two decades.

Michael, 74, says that he and Catherine, 49, have a "genuine love that continues to grow" each year that they are together.

Despite a brief split in 2013, the two actors appear more in love than ever as they celebrated their wedding anniversary.

Hugh Jackman and Debora Lee Furniss

They met on a film set in 1995 and were married the following year, and Hugh says that his relationship with movie producer Debora continues to get "better and better."

"It gets better and better, and I can honestly say that," Hugh said on the Ellen Degeneres Show. "I’m kind of really grateful that I met her before anything kind of happened.

"Everything that’s happened in my career and onscreen, offscreen, we’ve always done it together.”

Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi

Ellen and Portia met in 2004 and were married four years later in 2008.

Rita Hanks and Tom Hanks

Rita and Tom have been married since 1988, and say that their 32-year marriage is "sacred."

The couple says that Rita’s 2015 breast cancer diagnosis brought them closer than ever and that she was "amazed" by her actor husband.

“You never know how your spouse is going to react in a situation like this. I was so amazed, so blown away by the care my husband gave me. It was such a normal, intimate time.”

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

Despite having been a couple for 37 years, Goldie and Kurt, who confessed they had sex on their first date, are yet to walk down the aisle.

Speaking about how they met to People, Goldie recalled "He was so good-looking, but he had no pretence about him. I could tell right away he wasn’t a womaniser."

And on how they make it work, she added: “Love, gratitude, compassion, because sometimes every man or every woman will drive their partner crazy. Family. Fun. Laughs. Sex. If you don’t nurture that, and remember, you’re done."

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr

Having met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sarah-Michelle and Freddie credit being friends first as the secret to their long-lasting marriage of 19 years.

Freddie recently revealed to E!: "We were just friends. That's one of the reasons I think our relationship has always been so good.

Meryl Streep and Don Gummer

Meryl and Dan have been married for 42 years, and the actor puts that entirely down to the "good nature" of her sculptor husband.

Asked about the key to a long-lasting relationship, Meryl said: “I’m sure that it’s all because of him and his good nature.

"And it’s also that he’s an artist, and that helps. It would be difficult to be married to someone who had a different life."
