The best celebrity Halloween costumes of all time

Halloween 2020 may have been a little different amid the pandemic, but that didn’t stop stars from looking as incredible as always as they wowed with their spooky costume choices.

And over the years, we’ve seen some amazing outfit picks for Halloween, from iconic Christina Aguilera looks to clowns, ghouls and witches with a lot of effort put in.

Here are our picks of the best ever Halloween costumes we’ve seen on celebs…

Olivia Buckland as Barbie

Former Love Island star Olivia, 26, surprised followers when she unveiled her amazing Halloween costume, which was completed with drawn-on cleavage, large cartoon-like eyes enhanced by layers of paint and pop art inspired jaw conturing, reminiscent of famed American artist Roy Lichtenstein.

She was dressed to look every inch the glamorous Barbie doll in honour of the brand’s 60th anniversary. The blonde bombshell wore a black and white geometric leotard that showcased her toned figure and tattooed limbs, and pink fluffy jacket befitting of the iconic doll.

Kylie Jenner as Christina Aguleira

In 2016 Kylie Jenner went dressed as Christina Aguilera from her epic 2002 music video for the song ‘Dirty’. She posted the outfit on her Instagram account and it was so accurate that she could have starred in the vid.

In the caption she wrote: "Can I be XTINA forever,” accompanied by some sad faces. In our view the answer is yes, as she looks too good to not be.

Heidi Klum as an elderly woman

Heidi Klum is the Queen of Halloween. At her annual bash in New York, the supermodel pulls out all the stops. She has been Hellraiser, Jessica Rabbit, a gorilla, a werewolf and one year even went matching with five lookalikes.

However, her old woman fancy dress back in 2013 was particularly amazing. Before the bash she tweeted her followers saying: "Ok guys……..I am going into the future (sic)’. Before adding: ‘Happy Halloween. Little old me."

Alan Carr as Gemma Collins

Possibly the most iconic outfit of all is comedian Alan Carr dressed as TOWIE star Gemma Collins. He wore a version of the orange shoulder pad dress that became an infamous look for The GC, alongside a cut on his face and hair tied in two buns, which was no doubt a reference to the time she fell through the floor at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.

Luckily Gemma found the outfit amusing, commenting on Instagram: "Alan Carr I [love] you this is pure jokes ha ha ha made my night x dressing up as me what an honour."

Khloe Kardashian as Storm

As Marvel fans know, things don’t go well for Storm and Black Panther. Perhaps it is fitting then that Khloe Kardashian and her then boyfriend Tristan Thompson went dressed as them for Halloween in 2016.

Although Tristan and Khloe have since split after he publicly cheated on her, the two sizzled in their outfits. Khloe looked equal parts sexy and scary, wearing a skin tight pvc suit, ice blue contacts and with a silver painted hair and face.

Rita Ora as Post Malone

Singer Rita Ora dressed as Post Malone for the Kiss Haunted House party in London last year. The stunning star underwent an entire drag king transformation as the rapper; sporting a beard, his unique facial tattoos and trademark denim jacket.

As an outfit like this is all about commitment Rita made sure to play the part by clutching a bottle of beer and a fake cigarette all night.

Louisa Johnson as Britney Spears

Former X Factor star Louisa looked a dead-ringer for Britney Spears as she channelled the singer’s Slave 4 U performance from 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. Judging by her social media accounts the singer is no a stranger to daring outfits but this is another level.

It is clear she took her costume very seriously, even rocking a very similar fringe hairstyle with metallic eyeshadow to make the noughties proud. The only thing missing was the live snake…

North West as a skunk

Back in 2014, when North was only one year old, she melted hearts on the internet with her skunk costume. The adorable outfit, which was matching with her cousin Penelope’s, was fluffy with little ears and a bushy tail, and paired with black leggings.

Kim Kardashian West, North’s mother, uploaded a few snaps of the sweet skunk to her Instagram, captioning it: "My little stinker is waiting to show daddy her costume. Halloween has started early this morning."

Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s throwback

Jenner sisters Kylie and Kendall really threw it back in 2020, opting to recreate the outfits they wore as kids.

Kylie, 23, and Kendall, 24, shared a throwback snap of themselves from when they were young, with Kylie wearing a candy floss pink wig and Kendall with a silver bob.

Beaming from ear to ear, the sisters chose some very eccentric outfits, with Kylie in a baby blue two piece and flares, and Kendall in a sparkly skirt, white boots and a silver crop top.

Jesy Nelson as a devil

Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson really went all out for Halloween, opting for an incredible Baphomet costume.

The beauty painted herself red, popped some horns on and flaunted a very stylish glossy hairstyle while showing off her curvaceous figure, and fans couldn’t get enough.

Stacey Solomon and her Addams family

Stacey Solomon, Joe Swash and the kids did an incredible job at becoming the Addams family for Halloween.

The X Factor star donned an amazing Morticia Adams costumes while Joe became Gomez, and the kids really looked the part too dressed as Wednesday, Pugsley and Pubert.
