Tesco Clubcard points can be exchanged for vouchers to spend in store or with various other partners. Shoppers will no longer be able to use points on one of its current partner brands.

The supermarket chain’s partnership with International Airlines Group and its Avios rewards are coming to an end.

The partnership has meant shoppers have been able to claim perks including money off flights with British Airways and Aer Lingus.

The current offer means that £2.50 worth of Clubcard points can be swapped for 600 Avios vouchers.

The partnership is set to end on January 18, 2021 and Tesco shoppers can use their points until this date.

Any points already collected will stay in shoppers British Airways Executive Club account for three years.

“Clubcard is how our customers get the best value from shopping with Tesco,” a Tesco spokesperson said.

“From Clubcard points that are worth more than any other supermarket loyalty scheme and vouchers that are worth up to three times more than their face value at over 100 Reward Partners, to Clubcard Prices on hundreds of products online and in-store.

“Clubcard customers will still be able to convert points into Avios up until British Airways leaves the scheme in January next year.”

How does a Clubcard work?

The Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to collect points whenever they make a purchase in store.

Customers will earn one Clubcard point for ever £1 spent in stores, and for every £2 spent on fuel.

When shoppers have collected 150 points, these can be exchanged for £1.50 worth of vouchers.

The points can then be used for money off vouchers for Tesco stores as well as in a number of other brands.

They can also be used for money off meals in restaurants and days out.

The supermarket giant has recently changed shopping rules so there are even more savings on offer.

Clubcard holders can get exclusive access to huge price drops in stores.

The products included in the offer will regularly change and the discount is applied when shoppers present their card.

A post on Tesco Twitter said: “The new Clubcard prices are a benefit for people who are part of the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme.

“It is now a new benefit on top of collecting points and the Tesco Clubcard reward partner deals as well.”
