Sharon Osbourne shared her daughter Aimee Osbourne is “lucky” to be alive after escaping a fire in a Hollywood studio Thursday night that killed one person and left two injured.
“Today my daughter @aro_officialmusic was working in a recording studio at this building with her producer. They are the lucky two that made it out alive,” Sharon detailed on Instagram early Friday alongside a screenshot of a news article.
“It is utterly heartbreaking that someone lost their life today in this fire & we are sending our prayers to this person & their family. What happened today was beyond horrific.”
The former “The Talk” co-host used the tragedy to fight for better fire safety regulations in California and beyond.
“This building was a creative hub for music in Hollywood, a space that should have been regulated for fire code. Producers, musicians, mixers & artists also lost all of their equipment,” Sharon, 69, wrote. “Once again, our prayers go out to the family and friends of the person that lost their life to this senseless fire.”
Neither Aimee, 38, nor Sharon’s husband, Ozzy Osbourne, had publicly commented on the blaze as of Friday morning.
Sharon’s former “The Talk” colleague Carrie Ann Inaba took to the comments section to express her concern for Aimee and the family of the person who died.
“Glad that Aimee and her producer – are safe… but my heart is hurting for the person who lost their life and their family and loved ones,” Inaba, 54, wrote. How scary it must have been for all of them…Prayers for all of you. ❤️🙏🏼.”
Aimee is the eldest of Sharon and 73-year-old Ozzy’s three children together. She famously did not appear on their MTV reality show, “The Osbournes.”
