Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon clothing is selling fast thanks, in part, to some of the late rapper’s friends.
In the days leading up to Nipsey Hussle’s “Celebration of Life” memorial service, rappers T.I., Meek Mill and the Game, along with basketball players J.R. Smith and DeMar DeRozan, were among the many famous faces to stop by the South LA store and buy merch, reports TMZ.
In a video posted to his Instagram story, Meek Mill showed the store’s entire stock had been nearly wiped out and urged fans to go online and order merch themselves.
The website reports that while the celebs were offered items on the house, they all refused and insisted on paying for what they got.
Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside the store, located near the intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw Avenues, on the afternoon of March 31. In the week and a half since, the store has become a site for fans and the community to grieve and pay their respects.
The rapper’s memorial service was held at the Staples Center on Thursday morning. Following the event, his casket was taken on a 25.5-mile funeral procession that passed by the store.
