Coronation Street actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson has surprised fans today with a spur-of-the-moment hair transformation, which has seen her swapping her trademark blonde lengths for a dark brown colour.

The Welsh beauty, 33, took to Instagram to show followers her new look, but we doubt she was expecting quite such an overwhelming response.

“Really suits you,” one fan gushes, while another notes that she looks “even more stunning” with brown hair.

A quick scroll through the comments shows dozens of followers are likening Kimberley’s new look to a very famous face – Jesy Nelson.

“Not just me thinking Jesy from Little Mix,” one commenter writes.

The comparison prompted a host of others to agree, with many saying “yes same”.

“My first thought was Jesy from Little Mix,” another says.

Since Jesy is famed for her gorgeous long dark hair, we can see where fans are coming from. But the likeness also comes from the fact Kimberley is wearing fluttery lash extensions, which Jesy has always favoured.

There’s also a definite similarity between the two girls’ arched brow shapes, and the barely-there bases.

Sadly Kimberley returned to Instagram shortly after posting the stunning snap to tell fans it was the work of a wig, but that all the compliments got her wondering whether she really should make the colour change permanent.

She also acknowledged the comments about her looking like Jesy, and shared a side-by-side snap of herself and the former Little Mix singer.

“Also remember years ago that Revolution night club let me go in for free because they thought I was Jesy Nelson, and I didn’t fight because a fiver is a fiver,” Kimberley hilariously writes.

We love the thought of the actress using Jesy’s name to get into Revs, though maybe now she could use it to get into something slightly more high-profile. The Brit Awards, perhaps?
