A man has been stabbed in front of horrified Christmas shoppers in Chiswick.
Emergency services raced to Chiswick High Road following reports of the stabbing.
An air ambulance landed on Turnham Green.
Paramedics treated a man aged in his 20s for "stab injuries" and he was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
An eyewitness told Mirror Online: "It happened outside the Luna Cafe, the man bought something and then someone attacked him out on the street.
"It all happened so quickly, we didn’t even realise he’d been stabbed. People rushed to help and called the police and the ambulance.
"The attacker didn’t come into the cafe or anything, everyone was shocked at how fast it happened."
Locals took to Twitter to express concern about the incident with one saying the man was stabbed in the middle of the street. across from the HSBC Bank.
Eyewitnesses reported a large police presence in the area and officers investigate the attack.
Hounslow Police have advised people to avoid the area.
They tweeted: "#ResponseTeamA are dealing with a stabbing on Chiswick High Road with assistance from @Ldn_Ambulance @LDNairamb please avoid the area. If you saw anything please let us know."
A spokesman for the Met Police said: "Police were called at around 11.20hrs on Friday, 21 December to reports of a stabbing in Chiswick High Road, Turnham Green.
"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.
"A man, believed to be in his 20s, was at the scene with stab injuries. He has been taken to hospital – we await an update on his condition.
"If you have any information about this incident, call police on 101 quoting CAD 2713/21DEC or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We sent an incident response officer, a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
"We treated a man at the scene and took him as a priority to hospital by road."
