Jeannie Mai finally revealed the sex of her and husband Jeezy’s newborn after teasing details of the baby’s arrival for a couple of weeks.
In a clip for Wednesday’s episode of “The Real,” the co-host announced that her baby, named Monaco, is a girl.
“That’s the part that I’m still just so overwhelmed with,” Mai said of becoming a girl mom. “I can’t explain to you how many visions jumped into my head this moment I put that little girl into my hands. I thought about my relationship with Mama Mai.
“That already, I can’t wait to have that bond with Monaco.”
Mai, 43, gushed about how she “can’t wait” to teach her daughter “all the things” that she didn’t learn as a little girl.
“There’s just so many reasons why raising a little girl is such an honor to me. I would have been happy with anything, but to have Monaco, I can’t tell you, I feel chosen,” she shared in the clip. “It’s emotional, and I can’t wait to raise a really strong, loving, empathetic, humorous, fashionable, fly, little girl.”
Mai announced on Jan. 11 that she welcomed her first child with Jeezy, 44.

“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family. Baby Jenkins is here 🍼❤️,” the daytime talk show host gushed as she shared a photo of the newborn’s blanket on Instagram (Jeezy’s birth name is Jay Wayne Jenkins).
She revealed her daughter’s name one week after giving birth, but still kept the sex a secret. Mai enlisted her co-host Adrienne Bailon to elaborate on the name Monaco’s significance.
“Three years ago, Jeezy and Jeannie were talking on a bridge in France, talking about what it meant to do life together,” Bailon explained.
“Here they decided to grow and raise a family together. Hence, they named their child after the city that changed their lives forever: Monaco Mai Jenkins.”
